]]>One of the major trends I’ve seen in the last couple of years is the number of nonfiction authors who want to write children’s books. I’m not sure about the reasons behind this. Part of it may be due to the pandemic. The world is changing fast and those of us in mid-life are starting to embrace our creative side more… which is a good thing!
Part of it is also due to a bigger acceptance of children’s books as a wonderful outlet for authors and business leaders. I’ve thought about writing children’s books myself!
Which is why I’m excited to share this conversation with my good friend Beth Ann Ramos. She is an author, entrepreneur, and health advocate. Beth started her career in corporate marketing but left it all behind to focus on being a stay-at-home mom.
Beth has reinvented herself professionally multiple times as she worked to create a fulfilling work life that prioritized her young family.
In 2021, Beth founded Good Day Books to create and share encouraging and affirming content. However, she soon found a knack for writing and illustrating children’s books that empower kids while helping businesses create goodwill with existing clients and foster relationships with new ones.
Beth’s first book, I’m Getting New Glasses, was published last year, and she recently released the follow-up, When I Take Care of Me. She and her husband have two young boys, and they live in Texas.
Beth shares why she loves writing children’s books, the process for writing and creating them, how she has marketed them, and much more. This was a really inspiring conversation that made me want to immediately start writing my own kids’ books!

]]>One of the common themes I hear from writers is that everyone wants to write a kid’s book. And why not? We all remember the books that impacted us as kids. Or, if you’re a parent or grandparent, you have probably spent time reading lots of those short picture books to the little ones.
My guest today is here to help us understand the value of writing a kid’s book, as well as how to structure the story. Timmy Bauer is the Founder of Dinosaur House, a company that turns industry leaders into kids’ book authors. He is also the author of several children’s books, including Billy the Dragon and Lucas the Dinosaur Entrepreneur. In addition, Timmy is the host of the “Purpose-Driven Entrepreneur” podcast.
In this conversation, you’ll learn how to stand out in your industry by writing a children’s book, his process for developing a children’s book story, and much more. This was a fascinating conversation, and it has definitely given me the desire to write a kid’s book someday!

]]>The post Annabelle Healy & Mason Hagner: Young Writers Who are Making a Difference appeared first on Daily Writer | Essential Habits for Impact & Influence.
]]>My first guest is Annabelle Healy, who recently published her novel Far Below Human Eyes with Morgan James Publishing. Her novels have received multiple awards, including a gold medal from the national Scholastic Art and Writing competitions, which places her beside award alumni such as Stephen King and Truman Capote. She lives in Colorado with her parents and five little siblings.
My second guest is Mason Hagner. At ten years old, he was a youth athlete who was working hard, but not getting the results he wanted. His dad had taught him to never give up and keep working at it. He decided to write a children’s book about his experience of seeing things through, even when they are difficult. His children’s book is titled Never Give Up No Matter What.
I recorded these conversations separately, but both Annabelle and Mason talk about their process of writing, who encouraged them, and how they got it done. These conversations were a blast and I encourage you to grab both of their books.
